In early 2010 we asked what should be done with the building that was once Walton Library.

Our poll asked what you thought would be the best use of the site of Walton Library. The largest proportion of voters, 40%, believed the site should be used as a children's centre, highlighting both the desire for and lack of services for children in the borough, and the neglect of this issue by the Conservative run Surrey County Council. Whilst proposals for a museum (13%) and older residents centre (20%) were slightly less popular, it is apparent that there is a dearth of facilities for all groups of society in the area. Lib Dem Councillors our Surrey Council will continue to press the Conservatives to ensure that our social resources don't fall further into disrepair and closure, as when have seen all too often under Conservative governance.
