In winter 2009 we returned to the thorny issue of the condition of our roads and pavements which are managed by Conservative run Surrey County Council. This is consistently the issue we receive the most complaints from residents.

Our poll asked whether you thought the condition of the roads had improved in the last year. Despite some areas of improvement you are clearly still unhappy with Conservative run Surrey Council's maintenance of the roads. Just 18% of you thought the roads had improved, 27% thought they had only improved a bit, and 55% of you said they hadn't improved at all. Lib Dem Councillors our Surrey Council will continue to press the Conservatives to ensure that our roads and pavements don't remain full of potholes and dangerous kerbs - particularly after the major damage to many areas after the prolonged period of ice and snow.
