Lib Dem Councillors in Claygate get housing plan amended

Lib Dem Councillors in Claygate have reviewed the housing figure proposals presented to local residents by Elmbridge Borough Council at a public meeting where both the Councillors and residents expressed concerns at the level of development proposed in Claygate.

Cllr Michael Courtney found significant and serious errors in the figures which the Council have now accepted and amended in the Plan. The Plan now shows that a number of dwellings have either been built or are under construction and that a number will be built as infill in large gardens or as two houses where one presently exists.

Cllr Courtney said "we have requested that the Plan now clearly shows no danger of construction on Green Belt land so that the Plan cannot be used to influence a planning inspector hearing an appeal."
